The channel just shows a tweet from Jeb that says it's a guess. They didn't say it was definite.
Jighello
The channel does claim its the date on there channel page, there is no mention of it as a guess there. Which is why its a good idea to tell people that its a fake channel. Nothing on it can be trusted.

and if people want to interpret differently then they're the fools that will be disappointed.
Hey, don't use fool as an insult! We Crazy-Fools are not Fools!
As for MojangAB, they don't claim to be an official channel but a fan-base. The only people who don't realise this come under the category above.
Jighello
If you see a channel called MojangAB then you assume by default that its official given its the company name of Mojang AB(Until you realise its fake, or unless you know TeamMojang is the official one). From what i can tell calling something a fanbase doesn't mean its un-official by default(Mojang could start up there own "Fanbase" channel featuring fan's stuff if they wanted to).
The whole point im trying to make is that people shouldn't quote/rely/link to fake channels but instead quote/rely/link to official stuff.
Unfortunately, you can't post a URL to a single twitter message, you have to post a link to the person's profile, and then make people search for the twitter post you were describing. Twitter has its fair share of usability quirks.
In any case, the twitter post shown is verbatim what Jeb_ said on twitter. And its also what Notch has said in interviews during PAX and just after. They intend to split the 1.8 release into two parts, one just cleaning up the code they had at PAX, and 1.9 having the rest of the adventure update pieces in there (experience, more mobs, bosses, NPC villagers/smiths, etc.). The first part, 1.8, should be in a "week or two" after PAX (which was last week).
Bad news for those that like to build mob traps though.... Jeb_ said that in the future the mob traps *could* be rendered useless. Right now they are thinking that you should only get loot drops and experience orbs if the player actively kills the mob/animal, not if the mob/animal dies from falling or fire or suffocation, etc.
Here is the twitter conversation:

tinfoilchef
does the hunger thing affect people sitting afk for hours while something grows or a mob tower produces stuff?
-----------------
@jeb_
No, the food meter is only affected by activity
-----------------
@jeb_
... although we may make grinders obsolete in the future. For instance, exp orbs are only dropped if a player did the killing
-----------------
@tinfoilchef
That's ok, if I'm using a mob grinder I want the drops more than the exp orbs
-----------------
@jeb_
Yeah but that was what I was hinting at... We haven't changed it yet, but we may make drops work the same way as orbs
-----------------
@tinfoilchef
that'd be a bummer.. no more legitimate ways to get thousands of TNT for a big project. that'd suck
-----------------
@jeb_
Unless you play creative mode
-----------------
I don't think this will go over too well with the long-time players, though... so there is a chance a nerd uproar could get them to change their minds. Didn't work with cart boosters, though :/

Also, more bad news.... the map height limit is not "adjustable" as first mentioned by Notch a few weeks ago. All he did was make it "easier for mods to change the map height". And that means, that there will likely be no higher maps possible unless both server and client are running the same mod. And forcing clients to have mods in order to play on the server is something Broonie will not do.
When Notch first discussed the map height change, saying it was adjustable from 128 to 512, no mention of needing a mod to do it was made. I think that he had tried to implement it in vanilla and just couldn't. So, he has backtracked. He has a two part interview (from PAX) here, where he blames performance and stability issues as the reason:

People have been posting links to individual twitter posts since the beginning of time. You just need to click on the bit that displays the time since it was posted(Bit that sais "16 minutes ago").

Are we still running on bukkit?
I can't wait until the servers updated I really want to see some rivers and canyons
One more day to go!
Well it was done over the weekend so it may well be in the bag.
Their office really should set deadlines.
They do but notch will come up with a new food stuff to implement and the deadline gets pushed back. Hamburgers in 1.8, yum.
