We won't be migrating to a new map right?
From what I've heard, the border size will be doubled so that all the new chunks that get loaded from that will be 1.9 chunks.. So no new map.
is it just a re-skin for regular brichs?
Nah, actually looks different. Nether bricks they are.
I went to the nether and found some nether forts \o/ and some nether worts and these wierd firey things that fly and shoot fireballs, they have a yellow head which looks human and spinning limbs that are detached from the body, they set on fire when they see you and throw 3 fireballs at you. also i found some nether slimes ^^ they look like lava and bounce around like a spring but they still split and drop slimeballs, also the "blazers" as i havent found a name for them drop blaze rods which i have no idea what they do (same with nether worts) and ghasts drop ghast tears which i also have found no use for... ill upload some pics soon. Also swamp biomes make water go greyer and there are lilypads and dark green grass ^^
I really do like the nether bricks! There was even a nether fence that looked pretty cool. I usually stay out of the nether because I fear for my life. Lol.

ID List1.9 has a major bug where you have 90-100% CPU Usage. It seems to effect single cores more than multiple cores. From what i can tell its due to them implementing multiple threads incorrectly. I think the problem is that they are not calling Sleep or a simmiler command (Sleep is a Windows thing) to give control of the CPU back to the system after the threads done some work. If you have a thread that doesn't ever give control back it will cause a 100% CPU Usage (At least on single cores) and it will lag your computer as other threads (Both in the same application as well as other applications) will get starved of CPU time.
As a result i get a nice 2-3FPS now.

An extremely annoying thing about 1.9 which i found, (might be untrue)that might make the extendable map border useless, was that (tested several times) after walking to 4000+ value of x or z, it was just sea and a few small islands with no trees, as i boated around 2000 out and no considerable landmass. might be a glitch or maybe something notch added.
Aco, I love the sort of gothic feel to your builds. The Jarsocar research facility is one of my favourite looking buildings on the new map. Could be a good theme for a village/town...
