Seems the reason for the bad world generation upon teleporting, warping and doing /home or /spawn is caused because of the way the game loads chunks now due to the new save format.. Wonder if we'll get that fixed soon.
PS: I would think faster saving would also mean faster loading, guess not
Seems like it loads chunks in a spiraling inward pattern, causing you to wait till 100% of them are loaded before setting you down on firm ground. In the meantime, you are hovering over essentially a 'missing chunk error' and are spazzing up/down a lot. Anyone who has accidentally walked into one of those missing chunks knows its glitchy and random as to whether or not you can get out without re-logging. Now the added twist on this..... while you are hovering over this missing chunk waiting for the ground to materialize an bobbing up and down, you are TAKING DAMAGE at the same time. The longer it takes you to emerge from a warp the more damage. I've been killed twice now warping to spawn, lost all my inventory in the process, since the missing chunk swallows the loot
My advice, unless your inventory is empty, don't TP anywhere you don't have to for now. Wait for an update or a fix to be implemented.
If you really need to TP, it usually works if you log out and then reconnect after typing the warp command. I don't think it will work if you are already taking damage so you have to be quick.
