As one or two of you may know (because you were online at the time) I have sold my castle in Haven. I was wanting to sell it off. I wanted a new home after I saw Blinky's aperture science like one and I wanted a setup like that. I set off the next IRL day and went to a deserted area and set up a home.
The next day was when I sold my old castle to matt something or other (sorry I forgot) for an okay price with more coming as he mines it, but i digress. A while after I sold my castle I began to feel quite sad that I did and it dawned on me that I had grown attached to this house and I had thrown it aside like just an object. (It is actually just strings of computer data but that is beside the point).
I didn't want to ask for the house back because Matt seemed very exited to own it and I had already switched lockettes with him and he had already payed me.
I have also realized that this is the second home I have been sad to lose (first being in ssp).

My question is to all you crazy fools (dear god did i just say that) have you ever sold or got rid of a home or world that you felt sad about after. Write a short description of why you liked it and why you lost it and it will help me get over the selling of the best home in the world (soon to be second).

miss having neighbors though... "was" right beside the spawn before old spawn. small village nearby although have not seen people there for ages.

although, when people /spawn, they end up at my coordinates funny enough.

I sold my house and land while the northern rail was being built. I don't really miss it that much. I prefer living in more isolated areas so I have more room to myself. I do miss some houses on past maps though.

My first little home was in a mountainous area just to the north east of the original spawn. I'd done alot of work to the area, having dug out a lava flows source in a nearby hill and replaced it with water to make it safer for unsuspecting travelers, and fully explored the immense cave system that I found underneath, even having started a mine shaft after finding a few traces of diamond deposits. But alas, I felt the area was too small for me. I had built in the bottom of an alcove in the hills so my potential for expansion was hampered without drastically altering the natural terrain around me, something of which I don't like doing as I think it sometimes destroys the areas naturally spawned beauty.

I didn't sell my first home mind, I gave it away. Took out all the supplies in my chests, hid them somewhere else and then left the place with a free lot sign. I've returned on a number of times to see if anyone took the opportunity to renovate what was a sweet spot for anyone just starting in the server. But each time I visit I found more and more parts of the original build missing to the point now where I'm not even sure if anything is left except a gapping hole where the mine shaft met the surface. Bringing this up is making me want to go back there and see if anything else has changed... But I regret having abandoned the lot. It wasn't a huge, epic or particulalry pretty build, I'd just spent enough time and work on it to have grown attached like you had to your castle.

I still to this day miss the work I did with Rdeedfrey on the last map.

we planned to build a 90% scale of the london Gherkin which needed around a 50x50 (forget the exact figure now) digging to bedrock... so roughly 320,000 blocks were dug taking us 40 man hours.... just as i started to mock out the building we lost the map along with all the other builds that were smaller.

i took a break, mourned my loss for a while... then i realised something in myself... I could just build an even BIGGER building. And $afe$tore was born but what made it more comforting was that it was a functional building that helps other players too.

I have two plans for some pretty darn huge areas... bothe requiring a TNT license to mine out the floor (is that done yet?) because these projects will most likely take me months i'm takng a bit of a break to get the "itch" back so i can go full steam ahead with less chance of getting bored

so i guess my advice is, build something even better that you will become more attached to than the last.

I have lost countless builds. The original Staff Castle and Dolos. My Zeppelin Tower and underground canal system.

I also lost Oil Rig 1a, 1b, 2b, 3b and 4b. And countless similar towers.

Not forgetting the original SCAR towers and redstone labs.

Along with all my wooden houses with a circular aperture.

I have lost more then a fair few creations on this server. Yet I never really have been that grump about losing them. I haven't sold a single one, but all have been lost to updates. Glitches and map corruption.
My first build was a cacti farm, my second a castle, my third would be the 2 houses and the castle I built upon VIP island on the Pyramid map. My 6th build was this 4 legged oil rig, then I built a one legged form, from that my 8th build was a zeppelin tower intergrated into a underground canal system. From there I built a wooden house, it has a circular window that some may recall. My 10th build was Staff Castle 1, underneath it being a admin block base called dolos, to which the loot is shown below. My 12th built would be a similar wooden house found here http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/a401/Aconan/2010-12-17_134321.png?t=1293400873 and 13th being the redstone labs. 14th build would be another wooden house of a similar nature on a temp server. 15th would be a base under Creeper hill, 16 would be the slightly safer creeper lake. 17th would be the SCAR tower in Skyscraper city. 18th would be a wooden house on the original map as staff castle 1 to build my 19th build Scar Tower 2. Map changed to the Current one. To which I have built a wooden house of a similar nature, A Staffcastle 3, a Ministry of Mods, and a underground railway system.

I have missed out my builds of the Hub version, 1 and two which were next to broonies ship. I can not remember all of my builds sadly. But I do remember my 15 minute skyway which linked the 2nd and 3rd spawntown.

Minecraft is glitchy that way.
