Norway (mainly Oslo) has just been attacked by terrorists. Considering that the bomb went off within the government area, it is believed that this is a direct attack on the Norwegian government. Furthermore, an island with political teens (age from 15 to 25) has also been attacked, where a man dressed as a police officer got in and started shooting.

So far, it's been confirmed over 7 deaths after the bomb in Oslo, and an unknown amount of people dead after the shooting incident.

I am safe, but my thoughts go out to all those affected.

Apparently there was a you tube video, posted on sunday, called "Wybuch w Oslo - Explosion in Oslo - 22.07.2011. Wybush"... After the explosion it was changed to "hamsters". (Wybush means explosion in polish)

It just shows a little over a minute of two hamsters running in a cage, and some talking in the background.

Hehe, yes, I'm fine. I live some distance away from Oslo, and I'm not involved in politics (thus was not on the island attacked).

Update: 7 confirmed deaths from the bombing in Oslo, and 10 confirmed deaths from the shooting incident. The same man that planted the bomb was also the one whom dressed up as a police officer and shot the teenagers. He has been captured, and so far, we know that he has a history as a political extremist. We don't know much else yet (as the police have not released any further information).

just heard that 80 or more people may have died on the island . such a devastating thing to happen to anyone especial teenagers / kids its just horrific what some people can do.

i heard they had 80 dead and the bombing were by the same groop/person and they had the suspect in custody. My sorrow goes out the people that this affects

We don't know. He doesn't live in or near the central parts of Oslo (where the bomb went off), so the chances are high that he wasn't caught there. As far as I know, he's still on vacation.

also, i don't agree with the term that the media has been using to describe this incident. in my opinion, the sad incident that occurred cant be labelled as a terrorist attack. even tho the term "terrorism" is fleeting and there is no set-in-stone definiton of the word out there, a single man, with no clear connections to terrorist groups, without coming with a clear political statement after the incident, cannot be labelled as a terrorist.

the norwegian society, due to the good life in general, tends to shove problems under the carpet. one of these problems is the political handling of immigration. breivik has troughout his youth years criticised the faulty immigration policy (used by the pol. party who had it's meeting on the island) that exist in norway. in his mind, the norwegian identity as a nation is slowly falling apart due to immigration and the evergrowing islam population in particular. this has been a problem in our neighbour country, sweden, during the recent years. labelling breivik as a "terrorist" is, due to the repelling nature of the term, like sticking ones head under the sand and ignoring the problem that is faulty immigration policy that continues to create tensions in the society.

breivik was no terrorist, nor was he a racist. if he would have been a racist, he would have shot muslims instead of norwegian youngsters. breivik is a crazed nationalist who is very dangerous and must be locked away for the rest of his life, but until the norwegians start discussing the difficult issues, there will come more incidents of this kind. now is the time to thank god that you don't live in norway

Mw2 you say? Do you think this will increase the chances of mw3 getting banned from Scandinavia like it almost did in the UK because it had similar scenes related to a London bombing a few years ago?

I know it's a bit off topic, but I'm just pointing out, that if some video games like call of duty will promote terrorism, then high chances that these sort of games might be banished for good ( just an estimate btw ), meaning that many game players will be unhappy, scince COD is really popular amongst xbox and ps3 communities, also meaning that IW and treyarch will lose a lot of money from this.
