Me (JamEngulfer221) and my friend (Mr_Moustatio) were planning on making an adventure map out of the old crazy-fools map.

I am wondering if we are allowed to do this and release the map as a playable adventure map to the minecraft forums.

It could be a really good advertisement for our server.

Ensure suitable credit is given to Crazy-Fools.co.uk if any portion of the map is used, big or small.

Furthermore, if anyone wanted to help out with construction and stuff like that, they are welcome to.

(If I were to make a server on my home computer or anything else, solely for the purpose of constructing the map, and gave people the IP, would that count as advertising other servers, or would that not count, as it is helping advertise Crazy Fools?)

You should not post the IP publically. You should rather PM people that want to work on the map with the IP.

The reason is, if you post it publically, anyone could join in, unless you use whitelisting. Also, some mean person might shoot a load of crap to that IP, taking the server down.

As for advertising, I don't think that would count as the advertising mentioned in the rules, but I still suggest to contact Broonie just to make sure he's okay with it. : )

Yeah, I wouldn't post the IP publicly. I'd ask who wanted to help, then PM people I trust to help. Anyway, if they grief, I would remove them from the whitelist.

Well, since it's helping advertise CFUK, I don't think it's too far breaking the rules. However, I would still suggest sharing the IP by using a non cfuk affiliated program.
As in : PM user for email/skype/whatever address. Once you have that, you can send them your IP/whatever else you want. There's no rules broken by doing it that way. It's safest doing it this way, unless given the "ok" by Broons.

Yeah i would say dont give it out publicly as its basically inviting people to your computer, with all the hackings these days just be careful with who you invite but as the idea goes good luck!

Well, I was wondering, technically it wouldn't be advertising another server, as the server would only exist for the sole purpose of advertising for crazy fools. I wouldn't use the IP for anything else or any other server.

Anyway, the whole point of the 'don't advertise other servers' is to stop people from leaving crazy-fools for another server. This wouldn't be like that because the server 'advertised' wouldn't draw people away from cfuk because it is temporary and for crazy fools. If anything, it would bring even more people to the server!

Just wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter.

It's not part of the official CF UK network, and I cannot be responsible for the content, performance or redundancy on the server since its not managed by any of the staff or myself. It will be tr e ted as an outside server.

Any doing so apart from the 'Our friends' section will result in perm ban from the server and site.
