New Map Transfer - kinda confused!?!

Hiya peep's,
Been away for a while, and come back to find a new version of MC. Also seen the news about transferring to the "new map" and having to put stuff into the transfer chest - but I can't find any info on what the transfer chest is / how you make one / etc.
Can someone please help, as I've scanned though all the website posts, and a lot of the forum topics without finding any answers

Nothing's 100% certain as [technically] the poll hasn't ended yet. It seems pretty clear what the outcome will be now, and presumably we'll get the full details of how things will work once the poll has ended.
What we know is that, if "New Map with Item Transfer" is the end result, we will be able to take 8 chest slots worth of items for free, and we will have to pay 10 gold per slot after that, up to 27 slots total. Also, any gold you have in your server account will be transferred, but capped at 500. -
