I've heard a lot of mention that steve's carts is responsible for the recent crashes; should we take down any cart systems we have till the problem's tied down or there's a fix/patch next update ? If not are there any specific addons/mods/hulls that we should avoid ?

The cart that was within your area was the cart causing the crashes yesterday, and several times today.

Take care with them.

Oh, sorry I assume it's the cart at our old base I warped to; for general information for people I advise at minimum avoiding the track placer addon as that's the only thing out of the ordinary it had.
