I got a couple of mob spawners as Christmas presents.

Everyone tells me they explode, but when I try to place one, it just goes back to my inventory. Is there any way to use these?

I think Spawners can only be placed by VIP's and above, but I'm not sure if the rules have changed.

Due to so many people having mobspawners so readily available I believe (correct me if i'm wrong here) that nobody can place mobspawners. Just trying to make things abit more vanilla again. On the plus side it makes an excellent mining tool as quite often you don't take blast damage from it

What Q said Vip's can change mobspawners with a golden sword however it is bugged and will get stuck eventually.
