I think we can settle on one thing, we really don't need villager breeders near spawn, or anywhere for that matter.
Shame on you, Baconsmoothie. Trying to kill them is almost impossible with 0 fps. and we are at 3000+ now.
(edit) Sorry about that, did not see Addy's message.
Reference to trustee post "Vanilla Villager lag" permission given to destroy the machine due to extreme lag and server stability.
How about stopping the machine, then let the zombies take over and let the sunlight inn. Or just drown them with water or lava
I went on Bobble's account and tried to stop the machine...
It's a room with loads of levers/buttons attached to pistons - which push more villagers onto pressure plates. This then pushes down the next layer and so on, until they fall out through the bottom.
I couldn't get anywhere near the top.
It's too laggy to even touch the machine, it took me about 1 hour to get to the machine. If you try to turn off the machine, then all the villagers will be stuck in the middle lvls of the tree.
We tried the lava plan... but the lava took a long time to reach the zombie villagers.
has this started up again?
No it hasn't. I assume Bobble and Chang posted here later to reflect the bad lag they were having there.
Yep they did. Myself, Q and Paragers managed to stop the machine and kill the villagers down to a very lag free point. Still a sad day for villager kind. it shall be known as the "Great CFUKing Massacre"

Have you killed ALL the villagers?
So there isn't anymore lag?
Not all of them but there's no more lag. The main problem was that most of the villagers were huddling up in 3 groups on on a 1x1 space each. These were
1. on the hoppers at base level.
2. inside the glass chamber on the second floor.
3. center block right under the hall of doors.
I'd just like to apologise to everyone for this.
I've done some testing since and it looks like baby villagers can glitch through blocks (possibly when they grow up) after the update.
My villager factory was stable before the update, it must have been slowly building up since the update (I've been away for a week).
If they fix the villager glitching in an update then I'll rebuild the villager factory out by my underwater spawner, well away from spawn.
looks like an awesome party for the villagers from the screenies
now theyre dead..:)
No problem Bacon. If it was an update thing it's not your fault but yes i would tend to agree on building farms like this outside loaded chunks incase Mojang decide to screw some other coding up.
On the subject of lag on vanilla, the new update seems to have introduced a lot of new bugs.
1. boats are broke, you can't go for long without the world stops loading. If you exit the boat the world loads fine.
2. horses are laggy as hell especially if you go into anywhere with trees, fine if on foot
3. lots and lots of random disconnects (no such problem on ftb) so assuming its the update not my connection.
