[erhaps the script uses an array of a certain length to initiate ages, and when ages are >50 the array becomes too short or somesuch thing... hmmz
Server down again, Not sure when it went down, but it's down now. It might have been me, I think I forgot to turn off my rednet + soul cage spawner. If not, I think that the ages are a good reason that the server is down.
For all we know it could be the soul cages themselves. To be honest there are so many unstable mods to varied levels in FTB that we can't be entirely sure what's causing the fails.
The only sure fire way to figure it out is to take the most likely and work from there until there's a fix/patch released by the dev teams.
Wait was the server up in between? I checked every hour or so and am quite sure it just is still down after the failed restart this morning.
No matter how buggy a mod is, items in unloaded chunks generally do not cause trouble. The server just does not come up properly after restart or maybe hangs on shutdown (although that would be easy to fix)
So either a mod/world initialization problem or resource problem (cpu/mem/disk) or maybe corrupted map or something like that.
it has been down all day.
I hope its not gonna be another map reset, or if it is that maybe BoP can be on because it's getting rather boring to start over all the time.

Ok BoP "IS" enabled. there's quite a few other mods that need configured to fully activate it. Why they didn't just allow it as default so you could just turn it off is beyond me.
The first reset was due to the advanced info panels. Second reset was due to broonies failed raid array. So hopefully no reset required this time.
Yeah, I quite understand how figuring out what the proper world type for a BoP world in the server config is... annoying. I don't get why it's a world type really, other then to avoid BoP and other add-all-the-biomes mods from going at eachothers necks. Apparently a BoP world disables all biomes and then manually adds all the vanilla and BoP biomes or somesuch jazz.
i suppose that makes sense. If it's active already it means that all the others would have to be deactivated by broonie. Really it should just be a matter of activating BoP and integral to it's script has an exclusion for all the other types to load on world generation meaning it would have a clean plate to launch it's own modded/vanilla world gen code.
It wouldn't be active unless you altered world type in the server configs to a BoP type world.
This is really annoying now. Don't get me wrong, but Broonie bud, you need to either make yourself availible on time of restart incase the server does not restart to do it manually or clear the ages (if thats the cause)
Please don't think im rude cos im not, its just not a good server support. Can't you give the access to another mod or admin to restart the server?
We often cant enjoy it after a week of hectic life anyway~
Broonie is working his ass off to try and fix that.
Just remember that he's got the vanilla server running sweet as a nut, which only has a CFUK mod and perhaps a few server mods to deal with. With FTBu and other similar mod packs, there are LOADS of mods to deal with.
The mods in other packs will probably work perfectly fine in the "ideal" server - but I bet you that's an offline / hidden one. Broonie has to scan through the code of EVERY mod, trying to remember it all to figure out what is conflicting with what. That's not an easy job at all!
Broonie, like a lot of us, also has a job and a life ... so don't criticise him for not being there to fix stuff as it breaks.
Well i guess the idea it didnt work :/ Im going to say 99% of the problem is the ages, i think a weekly wipe would help?
Broonie probably has that in mind he's just having to work hard to finalise the new CFUK plugins
On saturday server restart did work. On sunday it did not, monday and today it did work.
Monday and today several guys, including me, befored a complete base shutdown. i.e. shutdown all power supply and machinery. Since player chunks are not loaded on restart this probably doesn't matter but could it maybe be the enderthermic pumps, all of them chunk loading at the same time?
So some guys switching off their pumps and easing the load?

If we do should we change pack slightly to keep it interesting/perhaps slightly reduce issues?
DW20 pack has a few less mods I believe so might be something of a middle ground . .
nahh, broonie rolled it back to a previous backup. I've removed info panels from our base squaff. I suggest others do the same when they read this message.
Broonie, just read that ForgeEssentials has an item banning mod which you could use also.

Broonie knows what hes doing. Trust me. And as for Draze he knew about advanced information pannels which were banned not the regular ones which were not. Helpers cant get access to banned items incase you didnt know.
Also the pannels can still causes even when banned believe it or not...Im not a guy who knows about this stuff but from the conversations with Broonie and Draze i can tell you that they are still causing errors as other parts of FTBU call upon their code.
