I like the idea, but the only problem is time-zones, as some players are only playing during the morning / lunch time / evening / late at night ... due to what time zone they are in and when they have free time. Could prove tricky to get everyone involved
I would suggest you pick a day (preferably a weekend day as that's when most people are off), and then run a series of events in the morning, lunchtime, evening, night and late night. The events would all have to be the same and you'd probably need to get several people (and staff) involved in running it.
Set warps at the start (and end if needed) of each event and then write out a set of rules / guidelines for the staff and who-ever's running the event's for each part of the day (so everyone can compete to the same set of rules). Then for each "event" during the day, the person running it updates a "scores" / "times" thread to show who's achieved what.
e.g. You host a desert horse race in the morning, and time who gets to the finish first, second and third. You then add the times to the forum. The next race is run later in the day and the times are added again, etc. At the end of the day's events, all members who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd are listed in time order, so an overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd winner can be picked.
For PVP you could do the same with times ... i.e. winner goes through to the next round of each match ... and whoever comes 1st, 2nd and 3rd has their "kill" time divided by the number of rounds they played - giving an average kill time. The person at the end of the day's events with the fastest overall kill time wins (if you get what I mean). The same could be applied to the capture the flag (wool), and so on
