It is probably possible to have a limited "ban" time on the Hungry Games server, however, please remember that this is the first attempt at a limited time, "Hunger-games" (or "Battle Royale") server. Therefore, there are bound to be things people don't like, want to change etc.
But hey - that's what the forum is for - so we can discuss it, come up with new ideas, solutions to problems, or other suggestions.
As for the "being allowed back in" idea, I do agree, but think that it depends on the world size, and type of world that is generated. In this situation we decided that a world size of 300 blocks in a Jungle biome would be a good starting point, and we decided that for this run of the server, we would run it as a "once you're dead, you're out". It was decided to run it for 2 weeks to give everyone a chance to play it, and see how those that did got on.
Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about there being no-one online at the time when people log in ... personally I'd use that time to gather resources, build traps, or ... well ... I'll leave that upto you to decide (think tactically)
- Future games may be ruled on kills VS deaths (i.e. 1 point for a kill, -2 points for dying) - so even though you won't gain points from traps killing people, you will reduce their points >:D
This is the first run at a server of this kind - so there may be bugs / issues to fix, or things to include / change about future competition servers ... We're just trying to get the basic format right for now.
Personally, I think the next one should spawn in the Nether! (or perhaps some custom built worlds, if anyone knows a good world making script?)
