Ok, I know its not a HUGE deal, but its really annoying and I figured I'd just let everyone know. I've had about 4 or 5 stacks of redstone, 2 1/2 stacks of iron, around 10-15 stacks of coal, about 1 stack of gold stolen. I know I had more than that stolen too, because my chest that I had completely filled up is nearly empty, just don't remember what I had in it. Anyway, there is a new tunnel leading to my tunnel system straight from "WaterDude"s place. I have no idea who this guy is, and I know I'm just making assumptions saying this guy stole the stuff, but its straight from his place this new tunnel leads to. Just wanted to vent and let anyone who doesn't know WaterDude to just be wary of him.
Hmm, he is new, about a week old or so. did you check for a chest with lots of riches that a new guy couldnt have gotten?
Last time I went past Waterdudes place there was a sign saying thanks to whoever griefed/stole from him, so whoever stole from you did the same to him no doubt.
i would very much like to see the chest protection addon once bukkit comes up. i am sorry for your loss and i know exactly how fucking frustrating this is.
PROTIPS:
how to hide your chest:
1. atleast 200+blocks from spawn.
2. not in the wall, not in the ceiling. floor works best!
3. not in the middle of the floor. hide it in a corner or even better, every time you have to withdraw or deposit you have to mine 6 or more blocks.
4. make the blocks hiding the chest stone! (dirt holes in your basement will be checked, even tho there is 10visible)
5. most important point, DO NOT leave an opening over the chest for easier access. fill that 1 spot out too for ppl with xray.
6. when you hide your chest, think like a thief and look for the last spot you would look.
7. don't hide your chest in the first room in your house, a far away basement/ mining shaft is better.
hope this helps
The thief could have been theultimateblade. Last night we had a problem with him stealing and griefing.
For the xray, have chests or crafting tables in the same place but have it 3-4 blocks above.
