Well its been a slightly drastic turn of events, Asta just reopened, we just got a new spawn area, and a railway system in the works.
now thats been left behind, lets start a new life on Crazy fools and build a new landscape.
I am actually ok with the sudden map change, i want to start fresh in a whole new world, nice and empty. cant wait to see what awaits.
What do you guys think of the sudden change?

Yes I've decided to take to the skies and build a city of floating islands new map = FTW

Well, im okay with it, it was time that we had a fresh start. But even so I am longing for the old map with all of its hard-fought creations. So im split with emotions. ASTA just got rebuild, Shinryuukai was working on a awesome railroad, 404 on a massive cactifarm, tua and other on the BAFI, and other things. So meh.

Losing your hard work is a pain, but I'm thinking this new map will turn out just fine.

I'm still raging... It might take me a while before I'm comfortable coming back...

wow a few mixed opinions.

Well, the spawn on the new world is sucky, right besides a frozen lake, with a steep hill on the other side. Not exactly the type of area you can build up easily. However, Flight and a few others built a new spawn around a 150 blocks away, and I am assuming Broonie will move the spawn point to the new building soon. The new spawn point is nicer, gentle rolling hills, a bay off in the distance, some moderate mountains in the other direction, with a naturally occurring lava-fall. I've already made a little hovel into the side of a hill nearby (look for the jack-o-lantern out front). I'm ready to start something fresh. Not sure I want to burrow into the ground like I did on the last map, though. For those that had never been to my home on the last map, it was a massive hollowed out room which was so large the walls on the other side faded out due to render distance limits (even when set to "far" in the client) and so tall it went from bedrock to sea level. Had tons of floating lights as well.

So... this time I will probably change it up a bit, build upwards.... not sure what it will be yet... but it won't be just another skyscraper. I'm thinking "jetsons" style sky home or something.

If the server is stable, I'll be more than happy with a new build. I'll come back and start fresh on a brand new map, no problems. But I don't want to come back to getting 5k+ ping times and constant disconnects.

The server has been a lot more stable with the new map, still some disconnects at times (lets you back in after 5 or so seconds, socket write errors) and the rare time out thanks to our glorious providers.. Map saves are nearly instant, as are backups.

We will hopefully be on a new box by next week, which should solve the minor problems that are currently left.

And shay, you'd better come back.. You're too cool / crazy to go anywhere else!

Couldn't be happier. Beach City is gone. And no, that wasn't sarcastic. Beach City was getting boring and it just felt like a burden that I was carrying and I felt like I had to finish it. I am building a home in an area far away from the spawn where hopefully not a single person will step foot on. I like fresh starts. Do I miss anything from the old map? Nope. I do feel bad for the people who put a lot of work and effort into their projects...
