Yea so I found this mod and thought damm thats sweet and was wondering is it allowed? If not is there any other alternatives?

I dont think so, it gives you an advantage over other players. and i think that it will be a no.

As I heard, Zan's Minimap is allowed.

it does not give much of an advantage over others apart from being able to navigate with out having the live map running in the back ground . it has only one setting the surface . however this may have changed as i have not used it since the beta came out

I'm starting to question whether to allow these client-side mods... Especially given that they have had a history of causing server lag. It's not about the advantage to me, it's about how it affects other people.

We track bandwidth usage and average usage per minute per IP address on port 25565.

Using excessive bandwidth in an allocated time can cause strain on the server and making it a negative expeiernce for the others on the server.

It also gives you an advantage over other players who choose to use the cartograph only.

If we see abnormal usage, we apply bans without any questions. It may seem unfair, but we need to make sure everyone has a good time whilst on the server.

ok i was using this mod which imho should be integral to the game after seeing Broonies post above i haz since removed it .

It is all fine blinky. It is a hard thing to define. Partly because our experience with 3rd party mods has cause so much trouble.

But it does give benefits. That can be unfair.
