What is the best browser to view the live map in?
i only get the compas in explorer
With out a doubt its Chrome. Runs faster than it used to for me on FireFox and I no longer suffer from the strange bug which stops players from being revealed on the Live Map. Go Chrome!

i get alot of black squares on the map, are those clouds? or?
So do I. Makes it completely unusable. Are these eliminated when viewing in Google Crome?
I use Chrome, and I get them. I don't know what's causing the black squares, but I think the "black squares" are chunks on the map that the map for some reason can't load. If you look further away from Spawn, you'll notice that the black spots increase. That is probably because less people have traveled there.
Generating all those images from map chunks would be fairly processor intensive, especially since you'd need to load the whole map into memory, so it isn't constantly drawing them.
It only redraws chunks when they get modified - when someone breaks or creates a block (and then after that there's a cooldown where it wont draw it again).
The black squares further out are where nobody has placed any blocks yet. You do get black squares where people have actually built, and that's just a glitch in the mapping plugin. No browser will fix that.
