Subway complete!

Finally after spending ages (since we moved to new spawn) I've gone and finished the circle line of the subway.

Each station has it's own tile design to tell it apart as they all looked the same before, the only thing left to do is name the stations which will be applied to the wooden signage you can see hanging down in some of the images below.

I've tried to keep the tunnels/stations as discrete as possible but as you can imagine I've had to go under some people's plots luckily the majority of these tunnels were dug before a lot of you moved on top of them though I do apologise if this causes any problems for future builds

Heres a map of all station locations, please note the red tunnel line is not exact just to give a rough out line of where it runs.

Theres 10 stations in all one of which sits under water which I think looks great, I'd say about 70-80% of this build was hand mined until I finally became a donator (totally worth it people, give Broonie a hand), which made the last few stations/tunnel a breeze.

Well I don't know whether to extend to other outposts or focus on something new I like the idea of conecting the new towns running the outskirts of the spawn or even building a line to Broonies Arena, we'll see.

Thanks to everybody who's lent me a hand in way of digging, building, materials and trading, especially Sgt_Blinky, Kahr and Waggoner. Cheers

One last thing please don't mine in the tunnels, I spent too long removing ores, dirt and gravel to discourage it, if you do happen to dig into a tunnel by accident please be a sport patch it up with stone and build around it, failing that take it up with a mod to see what can sorted Thankyou.

I was sceptical about it when you first asked me about building a subway, but it's turned out great. Well done! smile

This looks awesome! I've been down in the stations a few times, but haven't yet took a ride. I'll do that asap though.

As far as expansions, I think you covered it all... perhaps get with Sgt_blinky to tie into the #2 Mossy train station? Or link up to old spawn?

Wow yeah that's actually amazing!

I went on a mini-explore last night and had a nose about the last one with the red diagonal lined walls (which is a pretty cool touch btw)

Well done, Mysterysteve. I haven't taken a ride since it was completed, but I did take one not that long ago, and I really enjoyed it. Both the idea and the execution was well carried out. Codus!

I've taken the subway around the city a few times now, and I have to say its very nicely done. Lots of attention to detail to make the ride as easy as possible.

Only one small suggestion... when you get to a station, if you stay in the cart you don't know what station you are at (unless you memorize the tile patterns). What about a sign that you can see from the cart letting you know which station you are at? Would only take 2 signs per station.

Looks cool. I especially like that castle in the background of the first image tongue .

This here is a good idea. Other than that, I can't really think of anything wrong with the Subway. It's been very well implemented, and it does it's job well. That it looks pretty is also a bonus. smile

Liking the abandoned station tongue

Ha yeah, if you read flights post he was maybe right to be concerned at the time, I cheekily built a station with the entrance right in front of the spawn exit, but we have enough new users ignoring the rules and info building as is so it would have caused problems, so instead of filling it in I turned it into a feature.

I do like the depot designs, nicely done. I'll have to take a ride on that some time soon!
