Hackers, they suck.

Hello fellow fools. You're most likely wondering why the title is what it is. To put it in simple terms, a hacker has gained access to my account. I've tried countless methods of recovering it and it looks like this sad individual got my e-mail as well.

I will most likely try and borrow a account of someone while I try and get some money together for another account (I recently blew 750 bucks into a new PC).
I won't be playing minecraft for a while quite obviously so good bye for now.

What a shame joe, Perhaps we'll see you around in the future.

If I understand correctly, your minecraft account is compromised and is unlikely to be you if "joeboe1998" appears on the server. If you wish, we can ban that account and I'll ask to see if broonie will change any chests/signs that are yours to your new account when you get it.

If there is anything else us staff can do to help, just say.

If I see your name pop up on any lists, I'll let you know.

Most cases usernames and passwords are stolen from mod installs.

Thanks guys. I doubt it was a mod because I haven't modded minecraft since 1.8. I guess I was just unlucky and someone manged to find my info or something.

If the rare event of my hacker coming on to the server does occur, ban the account. I highly doubt he or she will know of the server though.

Firstly, have you recovered your e-mail account? If not (and I know it can be a lengthy process), get on it asap.

Once you've secured your e-mail account with a new password, then check it for alternative / back-up e-mail addresses. I know with hotmail you can have a back-up address to also recover the account from. Make sure this is an address you use (if you have an alternate e-mail).

Once your e-mail is recovered, try and recover your MC account through Minecraft.net (just goto login, then use the "can't remember password" link.)

If that doesn't work, then the hacker has probably changed the e-mail address associated with your account (apparently this is not possible with older accounts, but I have no idea how old they have to be). You will need to then contact them using this form - http://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/emails/new - but you will need your transaction ID (i.e. a code given when you paid for your Minecraft account).

The support article is available here - http://help.mojang.com/customer/portal/articles/361483-my-account-was-hacked

Please try and recover your accounts asap, otherwise it will reduce your chance of success, plus gives the hacker more time to use and abuse your account on any server they choose.

I did manage to get the email back but he was smart. He went in and deleted the email with the transaction ID. He did also manage to change the email as well. Because he migrated the account to a different email. Thanks for the help though soul.

If you payed via PayPal you can log onto your PayPal and get the statement which should be sufficient proof for Mojang. Or if you payed another way use the bank statement? I know it wont show your order number but im sure they will have records of who the paypal/card belongs too?

I did try to look into that michael and there was nothing, but there is good news. A good friend of mine kindly donated a minecraft account for me to use for the time being. Is there anyway I could de-link joeboe1998 and put the new account onto this one?
