squaffle, Thu Jun 27 2013, 03:46PMBeen playing around with starmade a lot lately and while not strictly minecraft it's basically minecraft in space. Free to download and play too. I'm sure the community would have a lot of fun with it particularly as it's free.
If CFUK had starmade perhaps it'd bring a few more new players to minecraft too, however I realise it'd be yet another thing to manage so it's just a thought for now

no it's not made by mojang, but it's voxel based and I know ftb uses many plugins made by voxelbox but this might be running on it ? (don't know my programming etc so *shrugs*)

Well Fekkit (latest version of Tekkit) now has a space mod built in (though you can only go to the moon), but from those who have made it there and back in one piece, they say it's great fun

I was psyched about galacticraft but it was a little bit of a letdown; originally you could go to a heap of other planets each with different things; mars even had bacterial sludge you could grow creepy alien worms from but the mod creator removed the 8 or so other worlds to work on them more. Visited the moon and the most exciting thing I found was cheese ore; there was tin etc but it was crappy moon tin that couldn't even be pulverised, Moon villagers don't trade with you either. Then when I flew back to overworld the space ship just disappeared -_-
