Which game recording software to pick?

Hey all cheesey

I'm looking to start recording some minecraft video - initally just for fun, but later for making guides.

If you record video on minecraft, which software would you reccomend?

I've been having a look at reviews of programs like Fraps, Bandicam, etc. And they all say pretty much the same thing ... "This program beats the others hands down" (or something along those lines). So this makes it harder to pick from the lot as I don't know which reviews are genuine and which are faked frown

Any advice / views / suggestions would be greatly recieved cheesey

I use bandicam for my vids, i love it, file sizes are much smaller than fraps so quicker to upload.

The Android Camrecorder. Works wirelessly.

I've always been a fraps man, but the files are a little on the larger side. Can't really go wrong with it unless you run a toaster, but I guess its the same with all types.

What hardware specs are you guys running?

I've got an AMD A8-3850 APU (2.9GHz Quad core with built in Radeon HD Graphics Processor), 8GB RAM, SATA3 HDD with an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 650 Graphics card (a cheap-ish one, but works ok for me).

The one thing that bugs me about the reviews I've read is that no-one has benchmarked the performance of each program on a few set games to see how they perform. In fact, there are no specs at all on the programs own websites (just bold claims). I can see this is going to be a tough one to pick!

I found on minecraft running fraps fps dropped like a stone. On other games (LOTR battle for middle earth for eg) had no fps problems.

I'm only running: Intel(R)Core(TM) i3 CPU M370 @ 2.40Ghz with 3gb of ram.

Doesn't run minecraft well but Arma borderlands, AOE, Rome total war runs perfectly fine even with fraps.

Im running an AMD Piledriver 8350 / 16gb Corsair ram / 120gb Samsung SSD / Powercolour 7850 2gb gfx card.

I think there are demos available for all of the capturing software we have mentioned, so best bet is to download them all and try them see what gives you the best fps. For me it was Bandicam.
