Unleashed: What's the point?

Please, don't take this as a rant. Please.

What is the point of having Unleashed on Crazy Fools?

I started a new job about 3 weeks ago, so haven't been able to be on as much as I normally am. Before that, 2 out of every 3 times I tried to log into Unleashed I was unable. The server was down or crashed soon after I was in.

Before the new job, I had actually played for a while. I had a pretty large setup going on. Then a map reset happened. So I started again and had a cool little island thing going on. It was fun. Then the map was reset again because of the info panel problem. It was not fun to log in after 2 weeks to find everything gone.

Fast forward to a couple days ago. I found some time to get on again. Cruised around the new map for a few hours, found a place and setup shop. I'll admit, I didn't have much yet but it was something.

So just a few hours ago I jump on again and what's happened? The map was rolled back again for some reason to fix another problem with Unleashed.

Then what happens, which leads to this post, is that as I'm trying to rebuild again Unleashed crashes yet again. I waited about 20 minutes and I was just able to reconnect. I have no faith in how long this will last.

I guess the point and question I have is: why Unleashed? Ultimate was fairly stable, but its realllly slow and 1.4.3 is just too old these days. I can't be the *only* person experiencing this litany of problems.

I know that since I choose Minecraft as a past time, and specifically Crazy Fools as the place to partake, my continued frustrations are really my own fault. If I cared less I would just quit altogether and find something else to do. Maybe that's what I should do.

Its just very frustrating that for something that's supposed to be relaxing and a hobby, it starts resembling work more than anything else. I can't imagine that Broonie enjoys dealing with bickering and complaining players. Hell, we both work in similar fields so I at least have some idea of what a pain maintaining server applications is. I don't want to be one of those people.

Is it worth keeping Unleashed since its so unstable?
