Community Choice Server Bug Reporting (Do Not Post Exploits Or Dupe Bugs)

AlexKockica, Mon Feb 01 2016, 01:24PM

I'll repeat what Draze said for dw20, now used for the new custom modpack server:

This thread is purely for the use of reporting bugs and glitches found in Community Choice Server.

"Please do not post information about exploits or dupe bugs on this thread. Report those to a staff member through PM or using /tell *name* on the server."

we found out that the boiler setup, from flaxbeard's steam power mod, that can be found randomly in some village houses (comes with word gen), keeps the chunk loaded..

In order to keep the server strain to minimum, I kindly ask you to at least pick those machines up and place in a chest if you come across a village while exploring, so the chunk doesn't stay loaded..
You can ofcourse use the machines if you wish to, just bare in mind that they also function as chunk loaders and use them responsibly..

here's a screenshot of the village houses containing said machines and photo of the setup

do not try to place Garage Door from Malisis Doors mod in the world, chunk will get corrupted.. (item will probably be blocked in the NEI at some point..)

another item that you should avoid using is the Prismatic Wand from Aura Cascade mod, suspected to cause server crashes

do not break powered soil if there is a fully grown crystal on it, last time I did with a grown iron crystal it corrupted the chunk.

On a more mundane note it seems as if recipes that require water in a bucket don't return the bucket. I've been used to getting the bucket back on previous packs.

I've had it happen with the fertile soil recipe and one of the moss stone recipes. I don't have the iron to experiment further.

OK now putting water into a tank destroyed the bucket -edit- no it probably didn't, something also auto-stacks empties but only for water which is disconcerting.

Discussed elsewhere: http://www.resonant-rise.com/topic/6714-witchery-a-bug-or-intentional/

FLYING IS NOT ENABLED ON THIS SERVER???

Using the jetpack from Flaxbeard's I got kicked twice.

some mods don't hook probably, we've had this issue in older packs, sadly, u just have to avoid that method of flight, good news is, theres many many other forms of flight smile

Its a whitelist thing isn't it? There's meant to be a list of all the items that allow flight so if you have one on you it isn't blocked. Maybe that one's not been listed.

Edit: or maybe they listed the wrong item ID. The jetpack goes in a "slot" in the armor so it wouldn't show up as an equipped item.

Do we even need a flight ban?

also one of the artifacts from (not sure which mod) says you can walk on air when shift-held, but that also kicks you for flying

Fairy wings or Dragon wings (I chose "invisible") that attach to an item slot in the form of a ring work quite well. It acts like creative flight. Check those out sometime, i believe they are from the botanica mod.

The "Ender IO" block from Ender IO appears to malfunction under some circumstances, giving a black screen instead of a view of its surroundings.

The Travel Anchor has a limited range (by design, not a bug) but some documentation implies it works at unlimited distance.

A quick note about RFTools dimensions. I would strongly advise NOT using an "Ore berry" dimlet as a terrain modifier. Features yes (Orbs FTW!!) but NOT terrain, unless possibly you are using the "Grid" terrain which is mostly space.

My guess is that the ore berry "bush" is an "active" block with a growth cycle, and large numbers of them growing cause a storm of block updates.

I had another look at "Dark plastic" and as far as I can tell while those chunks are in memory the server tick rate becomes ludicrously slow. Even after porting out you can't access inventories.

Quick bug report concerning the RFTools crafter and mekanism, well it may affect other mods. The crafter treats different tiers of energy cube and induction block as interchangeable, meaning it will happily craft an advanced cube using an advanced (or higher) cube as ingredient instead of basic. Worse still it will craft the advanced block using four advanced blocks as ingredients. I had quite a lot of supplies vanish before I realised.

I don't know if other "programmed recipe" crafters do this.
