Alternative SMP?

Nah, CFUK is my home.
Although, I'll be more on the inactive side till the regular map is fixed and ready to go again.

Same. Kinda sorta, learning some new things and gonna work on an android app for me and my rl friends to use.

I mostly play SP if I can't log on to the CF-UK server. Sometimes, though, I check out random servers is find on Reddit. I don't invest any time there, though, I mostly just wander around their spawn areas and check out the builds for a little while. Sometimes I chat with other players if they have questions, but I mostly just want to see what everyone is building. I don't even bother asking if there are kits or get any tools. I probably look very suspicious to the regulars there ;p
One interesting server I found is run by a former CF-UK member, Bentech, who made his own server a week or so ago. Its interesting because he is running Bukkit with several mods already... and it seems to be fairly smooth. They have protected areas where only the owner can build. Other than that, though, the server is not my style, as you can ask the moderators to spawn you pretty much anything. There are even houses built out of diamond blocks. Like that Zero Punctuation review said....if you can just clap your hands and get materials handed to you, its about as much fun as eating your own snot.
When I play SP these days, its mostly focused no a specific goal of teaching myself how to do things to bring to the MP server... like rail stations or tall structures with lava/water, or redstone circuits. I don't even use invedit on those maps, I mine for everything I need. Cause, that's the way I roll. Lol.

i play on my own server over local network with my brother and some friends. might fix it to be a real server sometimes as it seems to turn nice already.

The only time I ever go on other servers is to test out new ways of trolling people with minecraft script injections, just to let of some steam from time to time.
I haven't done anything with my single player world since I discovered this server in mid September.
Usually I utilize the down time by doing something productive (irl).

hehe, Discharge you should post more vids stories of your exploits.
I usually keep one other non-CFUK server around for when i get bored or disappointed with CFUK. But the other server's get boring too, so I work on Project: Midgar...

Yeah, I mess around on Single Player occasionally. I use invedit though, cause I'm only fooling around with ideas or TNT.
The server downtime has been a nice break though. I've gotten a few things done in real life too. Yesterday, I received my firearms safety course (Pistols) certificate. Once it warms up again, I can take the shooting portion of it as well, which I'll pass with flying colors. =]
