Re: Broadcasting on Twitch right now (Server Discussion) Posted on 11 Nov : 17:50
Think I might take another look at this, then again not too keen on having to play to a schedule

Yeah its that time of year, nights drawing in and all that...

Broonie how do you feel about it, can we fire up another modded server?

Nothing too special, and as the Infinity Evolved pack's been around a bit hopefully it'll be fairly stable by now or at least the broken bits will be well documented.

Also I don't think I'd miss Mystcraft or the Twilight forest if they got left out.

I got the urge to play modded again. So I joined Colossalcraft about two weeks prior to the thing closing down. Bummer.

So anyway found another server.

So what's changed...
Tinkers construct seems to go on as always, except that a 1-block smeltery works. Its a bit rubbish though unless you use it to melt compressed cobble (that works to double comp.) and make more blocks to enlarge it.

Item equivalence seems to have been nerfed a bit, it seems as if you can't use Big Reactors to make RTG fuel any more, if you want unending EU you'll need to go the full IC2 nuclear route.

The IC2 coolant recipies still aren't in NEI but they are in the F/S canning machine's list.

The MFR laser drill will return iridium ore blocks, but that is less useful than it sounds as you can't turn it into IC2 iridium.

The Thermal Dyn. Viaduct looks fun. Too expensive to replace rails but a great way to get around a big base.

The map I'm playing reminds me of our Tekkit map with the amount of underground lava I'm finding.

Enderpearls seemed hard to get but there is an "end" warp.

Hi
whitelist please
I'm still looking in from time to time

Oh and I see the forum seems to be running better now
Re: Oh well!... (Server Discussion) Posted on 12 Sep : 12:47
I downloaded the Tekkit map once and it sort of worked with the Tekkit Classic pack except for some odd missing bits. It was quite interesting to revisit and I thought I could go on playing it offline but it just wasn't the same in singleplayer.
Re: Autumn/winter revival: Anyone interested (Server Discussion) Posted on 08 Aug : 17:34
Great!!
Not sure what it should be but I was wondering about a skyblock pack, as something a bit different to regular mining. Possibly not a long term thing but could be a fun alternative. My two concerns:

1: I hope there's an easy way to reset a player in case they screw up and lose the materials needed to progress
2: I hope it works properly in multiplayer and doesn't spawn players over void

I was also intrigued by the idea of FTB Infinity Evolved Expert mode. As I understand it recipes are changed to include materials from more mods and some easy energy sources are disabled.

Having said that Infinity Evolved is available as a skyblock pack!

Other than that I'd be intersted to compare notes about favorite mods, stuff I miss etc.

I have a vague urge to want to play with Gregtech again, as long as the progression hasn't gone completely bonkers. I have fond memories of the old Mindcrack pack.

Well I had been playing on the CC server until sometime early this year, but it just feels lonely now. Summer's rarely a good time to kick off a new map, but how about starting a new modpack sometime in late Autumn.

Regarding choosing the pack please try to be the "second mouse" and go for one a bit tried and tested rather than leading edge, it needs to be easy to maintain.

Re: Anyone out there? (Off Topic Discussion) Posted on 17 Jun : 10:30
I still check the forums regularly. Not currently playing though.

Its a curious scene compared to minecraft because the game has much less built in content so it is very heavily "mod" driven, but the mods only need to be server-side.

I got quite into a skyblock map though it seems down today.
Re: The Screenshot Thread. (Minecraft General) Posted on 11 Apr : 17:49
OK so above is an essence berry bush orbs world. Using bushes for terrain is bad news, seriously, but as orbs worked.

Below is a rather broken dimension, I think one of the mods has a special biome that is ONLY used for making a special dimension so when RFTools generates a dimlet from it the result is broken.

Meanwhile I made it to 5500 North eventually, so here's another ludicrously epic build I found.
