This is a problem I hit on both tekkit and vanilla. I think some of you know what I mean, for a while one chest is enough then that fills up, then the second one fills up, and I suppose eventually you end up like the guys in the youtube videos with a chest for each item?
Biggest aggravation is the "dump chest" that tends to build up next to my main crafting bench. With tekkit I'm wondering if the answer is to have different workshops for different modules so the things I need can be close to hand?
I sort things extremely neatly, (Minecraft OCD) and each chest, if not used for one specific item, is used for a group of closely related items. My previous storage room had over 100 chests.
For example, I had 3 chests for cobblestone, and a chest for moss stone + smooth stone, since neither of them were too common.
Below my house, away from my main storage room, I had an extra "junk" storage area where I simply stored extra cobblestone, dirt, and other junk blocks.
I set up a lovely chest store which is labelled according to relevance. Then i get impatient and put stuff in random chests....
randomness!! i just fill every chest up and label the content with a sign after the damage is done.
Randomness, yeah that's what I mean by the "dump chest". There's always time to sort it later:)
i HATE unsorted chests! Sort theeeeem! damn minecraft OCD!
I think I need to build an auto-sorter: throw stuff at a transposer somewhere and it automatically pops out into the right storage
Sorting machines and painted pneumatic pipe FTW
Well i tend to put things in chests. Dunno about the rest of you
i recently set up a full sorting system with only pneumatics and filters. now, i have a dropchests that i toss every piece of junk i have and it automatically sorts it between 100 different chests.
I gave up on sorting anything =)
