I'm having a go at these with a view to having two-way tracks. I was planning on the simplest arrangement I could think of which was a switch track with carts entering from the side via a boarding track. A reciever box controls the boarding track so carts can only enter the line when it is clear.
Unfortunately I'm finding that the signals update slowly and there seems to be a noticable window when both ends of the track can launch carts.
Another peculiarity is that a stationary cart on the branch side of the switch activates the switch, causing approaching carts to try to turn not go straight on.
I think I need to add a little holding loop. I was hoping I could do it without switch motors...oh well.
