well... portals can be a sort of restricted thing... If someone wants a portal, they'll have to ask an admin.

Or have admins build server-wide portals in designated spots, like cities and such.

Or whitelist flint+steel for VIPs and up?

Or disable lava and water(=obsidian) completely, if entrance to hell MUST be restricted.

Whats going to be interesting is the health bar in use again.

I'm not used to eating bread, meat, and whatever else restores your health.

Make spleef more exciting. If you fall, you die.

Or make spleefing even more exciting by having water underneath which takes you to a horizontal portal to hell, if you can make them horizontal

I have found a new videos which are posted on notch's blog, where it's shown that you need to stay on the portal for multiple seconds before it teleports you.

Not necessarily true. It is possible to have flint and steel available to the general public but make it so that it doesn't create fire. I assume from the videos I've seen previewing The Slip (aka hell) that using the flint and steel on the portals doesn't actually create fire so perhaps fire can still be disabled.

Horizontal portals?- I'm going to have to try that with INVEdit really quick, Anyway. hopefully the server will be back up, I'm most likely going to create a massive city in Hell. :>
