So I'm starting to look for a new graphics card, since my old one broke down. So you guys have any suggestions on what to get? I need something that'll be able to play higher end games, but still be reasonably priced.
I've been a Nvidia guy myself, but I'm open to other brands if they work better. Been dissapointed with ATI though :/

i've been an nvidia fanboy for well over a decade, but my recent upgrade to hex core with 16gb ram had a tight budget, and so I went for a Radeon 5870 HD with 1gb grahpics ram and 1600 cores. It runs triple screen smoother with 4x AA than my former Nvidia 9800 GX2 did with none before it blew and was only £130. bargain! and converted!
also, the thermometer for my NZXT fan controller i've stuffed into the exhaust of the graphics card never gets hotter than 40'c even in an ambient room temp of 30'c (humid hot stickiness here in Northants atm). considering every nvidia card i've had hits the top end of the 80's it's quiet and cool as a cucumber. cant recommend it enough
