Guys, i'm telling you this right now because i'm currently on the phone to EA/Windows Live getting illegal use of my card reversed.
if you use the same password on your EA account for anything else... change it SHARPISH!
fortunately my xbox/windows live account was the only two things that shared the same password so my problems are only localised to those two.
interestingly i had to Google to learn this information. EA have sent me nothing. After i get the thousands of ms points illegally purchased and refunded to my card and account given back to me EA will be getting an earful from me next!
Is this anon?
Or is this some random low life?

some random low life.
I've read some more (still waiting after 1 hour 16 mins in the queue to EA) it appears if your origin account is linked to your Live! account in some way, like for me it's linked because of some EA 360 games that demanded me to use the EA servers (tiger woods for example)
it also seems to be linked with Battlefield 3. i must've logged into a less than legit server (how? i dunno, i used the Origin server matching like everyone else) which grabbed my password details. which they then used to get into my live account, and use my saved card details to rob me of £90!
This has nothing to do with me flooding MAC addresses to overload a switch last night. Let me just put that out there.
Anyway password changed, thanks for the heads up.
So if you join a BF3 Server they get your username/password details?
if you log on to a less than respectable server, they could get it, yes. i guess it's following a similar suit to when people were getting their minecraft accounts hacked.
EA are banning people who have been on unofficial BF3 servers also.
I'm still not certain it was BF3... so unless EA themselves show unofficial servers on their Origin matchmaking system then i've certainly not knowingly logged into such a server.
this hack also seems reminiscent of previous FIFA game exploits on the 360. the key thing though at this point is EA always seem to be linked to Live! account hackings.
i gave up on the phone to EA after still being in the queue for 2.5 hours. snotty email sent to EA.
Ughhh people get their ea acounts hacked all the time on fifa with that ultimate team thing. My friend was a victim of Ultimate team hacking also they spent all his coins on the game on players or something
Yeah, EA seem to have a fair few loop-holes in their logging system.
You would think they would increase their security to levels more like a bank. Getting hacked ruins there image and looses them customers. So in the long run having crap security will loose them money. It would be cheaper to just improve there security now, instead of only doing it after they get hacked.
seems abit strange that a password would be sent to the server you connecting to. stucuk i think if any games company is going to have top notch security EA would be one
