Wow, what a promising career you have chosen. Nice one. Don't know much about the armed forces apart from they wouldn't take me seriously when I tried to apply to the navy just after I left school. In those days you had to be a certain height and I'm a bit diddy so yea... gutted.
Interview wise, seriously, just be yourself and answer truthfully. Good luck!
Why doesn't your Dad want you to join up?

My dad wanted to be a racing engineer. He says that he'd trade it all to be the mechanic. So I think that he wants me to do what he wanted to do. I understand as he has seen his best mates killed in the line of duity and I respect him with everything I have. But I've always wanted to fight for queen and country. The more he says he doesn't want me to, the more determined I am to do it. I just don't want to disappoint him or let him down but I want to fulfil my dreams and life ambitions.
What branch you applying for Taz?
Weapons engineering officer.
Well gl with it steve! hope you get it mate
I was a sponsored RN student with the DTUS scheme. It does take a lot of time up - something you lack if studying engineering. I had a lot of fun but sea time was sparse. I spent more time with a rifle in the Brecon Beacons than near a ship. AIB is a strange experience. Make sure you are not a dick but not quiet. I have many friends who are WEOs and MEOs. If you want to ask anything specific or what not then dont hesitate to PM me.
