Hey so i had to reinstall minecraft but whenever i try it downloads the shortcut but not actually the .minecraft files... any suggestions?
You did delete the whole bin folder didn't you and not just minecraft.jar?
Yes i have done ALOT more digging and i think the reason things are not working is becuase there is a problem with my DNS, i dont know if this is something i have messed up or virgin have messed up because i got a new router and faster internet about a week ago.
Change your DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
I have re downloaded java and added minecraft and java to my firewall although i never had to do that before, i am now gettin fatal error (4) s3.amazonaws.com and any tutorials on the internet are not helping, i still think it is a problem with my DNS so i will probably contact virgin
