Just ordered myself a new PC as the Electricity company owed me £300 and I'm fed up with my slow old PC. Plus, I've been working my butt off around my house to decorate & renovate it, so I think I deserve a treat

Will have to use the onboard GFX and sound for now, but at least it's a start and it's a lot better than what I have now.

Anyone got any ideas as to what GFX card I should look at getting for around the £200 mark?

Looks not bad, probably go for a AMD 7850.

Not bad for £300 Soul definetally an upgrade. And it'll get you off Xp pro so no more compatibility issues....well..... some new ones with Win 7

Yeah, just done some reading up on Win8, and think I might have to make a dual boot system. The question is, do I make the other OS a Win XP 32 bit install, or a Linux install???

Got a load of games on Steam I want to be able to play, plus a few on the Microsoft game network. So am not sure which other OS will work better.

Oh, and forgot to mention that the SSD is SATA3, and in my current system I have a 500GB SATA2 HDD which I intend on transferring over to the new system (I use it purely for file storage).

Either way, my old system will still be operative, so I can still get online with that if I get trouble with the new system. Win8 looks good, but so far Mojang, Valve (who run Steam for those that don't know) and Blizzard have all voiced their opinions against Win8. Perhaps I should have just bought Win7 instead :S

Linux mint is well ... Mint and kubuntu is rather nice I would go for them if I was u .
But I'm a frog and a lot of peoPle don't seem to trust frog logic :/
