So me and Steven want to do something together that isn't Magic - The Gathering, roleplaying tabletop games or tile based games. So yeah, we tried Halo 3, L4D2 and GoW etc...
What are your favourite co-op games for xbox?

Need for speed hot persuit
COD Black ops and modern warfare 1 and 2
Halo 3 and ODST
PC:
Splinter cell conviction
Zombies is always a favourite on COD.
Old N64 games are good fun too ;D
Argh no CoD or MW please. Halo3 was boring and ODST got bad reviews. But broonie, the Zombie add on for CoD does inspire me... But meh surely L4D would beat that? It is the ultimate bang bang kill zombie game.
Yes Broonie ZOMBIES FTW! I bought first strike pack just for the zombie map.
Try ZombieCraft. that looks pretty good.
For XBox you say? Hmm... Resident Evil 5 is a good one (Only if you play on a high difficulty with infinite ammo switched off). Lost Planet 2 is satisfying to play with friends too. If you want another cheap building game you could try one of the Kefling games on XBLA, but they're not as satisfying as Minecraft...
What else... Hmm, Dead Rising 2, Borderlands, Scott Pilgrim: The Game, Saints Row 2, Crackdown/2, Rainbow Six Vegas/2... That should be a big enough selection for you to look through. I've been meaning to get my hands on Two Worlds 2 and see how the online handles on that (damned Top Ware effing around with release dates and distributors...) so if I get it in the coming weeks I'll let you know if its worth looking at.
Borderlands can get very addictive. You need any help with it or just some starter freebies hit me up on Live. My gamertag is in my signature. ----v
Yeah well we were going to do RE5 co-op but I realllllyyy wanted to play it and steven was working alot so I just did it myself in the end. And I have since sold it to buy WoW-Cataclysm when it came out -_- But yeah will add you when I next go on Zoidy.
Army of Two is only good for the one play through though, so its replay value sucks... Another good title to consider is Castlevania Harmony of Despair. If you're a fan of the old games this could tickle your fancy. I can't bare to go on it for more than a few minutes a time now but back when I first got it I was grinding through chapters for hours on end.
Another I'll advise you to avoid would be Bulletstorm. It looks great in trailers but I feel its replay value isnt as great as its made out to be. Its less a game about killing creatively and more so killing in set ways that the designers got creative in imagining, which doesnt feel as rewarding. Your best moments (or at least mine have been) are those when you achieve something truely unique, which most of the time isn't even rewarded. Such as when I leashed an explosive barrel into an enemy my friend had just sent flying my way with the Penetrator, WITH a friend. He didn't get any skillshots and I didn't get enviro-mental, just 10 points for a kill that had us giggling for a short while and then crying when we were robbed the achknowledgement our moment of sadistic creativity deserved. Only thing I'm keeping Bulletstorm for now is the GoW3 Beta.
Hm why keep it for GoW3? That's not even out till September, I cannot wait that long.
I think something shorter would be great too. I'm like 24 hours into Fallout NV and nowhere near finishing -_-
And yeah Steven's played the Castlevania's on the DS so maybe I shall look into that too.
I don't think we need to worry about replay value as this will purely be a game for co-op to go through once to do something different together.
He may be disapointed by the lack of an actual story in Harmony of Despair, but its a solid game to have fun with friends.
If you're looking for short and sweet I'm the worst person to ask. I like my games to last me awhile with a moderate amount of replay value (thus why I love Fallout/The Elder Scrolls so much). That console port of Torchlight is pretty good too, but no co-op. Thats planed for Torchlight 2 apparently.
I can't think of anything else to reccomend right now... All the other games that come to mind are either non co-op or I feel you may not be too interested in. One to look for in the future though is Brink, which is supposed to be coming out some time soon.
I wasn't too impressed with Serious Sam HD. Sure its pretty but it just felt like meh... Servers arent too good either, most games I've visited either lagged out or D/C'd.
Borderlands however will last you a long time, and you can jump back and forth to it relatively easily since the game is pretty well paced. DLC makes it really fun too, like Moxies arena and, of course, the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned (not at all like his brother Dr. Zed).
If you just want a quicky co-op game, there is a free one on Steam called "Alien Swarm" that's pretty neat. Its a top-down shooter, you have to pick a class when you start a map, and the weapons/loadout you are gonna carry. Your teammates need to pick a class/loadout that compliments yours, though, so knowledgeable team members are very helpful. Its basically a team of marines versus an alien swarm. There are not that many maps to play through, but the ones they do have are great... and modders keep adding new maps all the time. Its easy to get into, and once you learn the maps, can be very rewarding. There are perks and new weapons you can earn.
The downside is.... once you learn all the maps and earned all the perks/weapons, the gameplay then becomes kind of repetitive. I played that game for about 2 weeks straight then kind of dropped it and never went back.
But, its fun for a quick co-op freebie game!
Well we used to play Counter Strike together (ahem that's how we met) but we only have one computer these days and the only thing that my laptop plays is WoW oddly enough, won't even play minecraft or we could do that together rather than take turns.
Ah that's fine, I will add it like you put anyway.
We are currently playing borderlands, whilst eating chinese and drinking. Life is okay/
Flightster, I see your point....
