Hiya Guy's and Girls, here's a quick guide on how to write out a report to ensure that the Mods & Admin have the best information so they can act swiftly.
Basically the process is:
1) Take screen shots.
2) Describe the grief in this section (the "Reports" board).
3) Upload your screen shots to your report to back up your evidence.
For more detailed info, read on...Taking Screen Shots
If you are watching a grief in action, or reporting another grief, take screen shots. In most cases, you can take a screenshot in-game by pressing the "F2" key. However, this is not enough on it's own - we need to know the exact location of the grief in order to check it out.
To show your location in screen shots, simply press the "Shift" and "F3" keys at the same time and you should get a load of text appear in the top left of your screen. This contains your location information as well as other information. Take your screen shots with this visable if possible - it shouldn't slow down your game at all having this text display up.
If you are on the Tekkit server and have Rei's minimap visable, this normally has your coordinates below it. If it does, there's no need to use the Shift F3 command.Describe the grief
If you have been griefed or have witnessed a grief, make sure you give a good description of it.
Just saying "I saw xxx player griefing" or "I've been griefed" (with a load of screen shots) will not help the staff at all.
Think of the screen shots you have taken, and try and describe what's happened in each one. For example...
"Screenshot 1 - Glass broken".
"Screenshot 2 - There used to be a (block / item name) here".
"Screenshot 3 - Player <playername> attacking me".
Make sure that if you are naming a player that you've seen doing something, that you get their name correct (as there are a few players with similar names).Uploading Screen Shots
To find your screenshots, they are in the screenshots folder inside where your minecraft is installed. To find your minecraft folder on any windows install, goto "START" and then "RUN" - this will open a box with a text line entry. Type in "%appdata%" (without the quotes) and hit "OK" - This should open a file explorer window and you should see ".minecraft" near the top of the list of folders shown. Open the ".minecraft" folder and then the "screenshots" folder.
Drag the image files to your desktop (i.e. don't have the file explorer full screen so you can see the desktop behind it). This will make it easier to access them when creating your report.
When writing your report, at the bottom of the page will be a "File to attach" section - this is where you add you pictures. Simply click on the "Browse" button, find the first file (on your desktop) and hit OK. For each additional picture click on the "Add Another Attachment" button (which will create another box with "Browse" next to it) - hit the "Browse" button and select the next image (and so on...).Be Honest
Do not try and report players for doing something they havn't done. If they havn't done anything wrong and you are trying to falsely blame them for something, you could face a warning or ban instead. The Staff will always find out who's done what & where, so there's no point in trying to lie about griefs.
I think that's it. If anyone has any further info to add on reporting griefs, please add it below
