If you walked in a perfectly straight line (a big IF), that would take you about 5 minutes to walk to from spawn.
Just ever so slightly further then pyramid is.
Hmm 5 minutes isn't massively bad, plus I am sure many of us working on it will spend most of our time there. Once carts come in we can speed things up I guess. I've seen the area myself, its incredibly flat. One of the largest Ice seas I've ever seen.

I like it, if expansions need to be made, they should be made further along the Z-axis. If I recall correctly, that should be.... East. And yes, expansions will need to be made.
Alright, we seem pretty decided on the area. I built a (very) small hut with a few chests and workbench +furnace close by (but not too close to possibly be in the way). This can (and probably will be) expanded as we progress with the project.
IF we've decided this as the DEFINITE area I suggest we move onto planning of dimensions, we can't just make this thing up as we go along, we'll need a few basics down straight away.
Looks like a good spot to build... But I don't know if I will want to help build the island itself but I would like to build stuff on the island. I guess I can help with the transport to the island.
Is there a warp? I would really like one =)
I could build a quarry and refinery some distance away and send Pure/Refined stone and dirt via railway?

We still need to decide on a good location for the Isle. Are we in general consensus on the ice sea? Or are we going to excavate a mountain? Toddy, if you're up for it, I'd like for you to oversee this part of the project.
Well with the ice sea we can start pretty much straight away, seems everybody likes it but could set up a poll?

Locating a viable site candidate. If you think the ice sea is best, let's do it. If so, though, I'll be putting you in charge of the task of filling it. (With underlings to do your bidding, of course.)
All the water underneath it so we have enough room for the isle.
