I was wondering what the largest project anyone has done on the server, block-wise?
This includes any past maps we have had and the current one.
Can you say how many blocks etc it was too.
I think Tetra qualifies - it was a group effort, and it got pretty darn big. Especially with first flattening that huge area of land, and then raising skyscrapers all over it. But I wouldn't know if it was the biggest.
My arenas foundation is about 200X150 blocks and ive only just started work
Hmm, possibly tetra. But, there was also BAFI, Big Ass Floating Island. It was the server project two maps ago. Many people were involved. People dug out land from under the location of the island to make a sort of crater. A huge island was made which had many big spirals on the bottom to make it look like the island was pulled out of the earth. I'm not sure how many materials it used up, but it was a lot.
Bafi or Tetra.
Maybe the Rail system as well.
Does Tetra count? I know it was a group effort, but, really, it was just an organised space where people built individually.
I would have thought $afe$tore, as it was one unified build. I don't know what Bafi was/is.
Personal biggest was the mob tower/grinder shown in the avatar image *points to the left*. This stretched the full height of the map with the mobs spawning in four floors at the top and dropping down one of 15 chutes into water flows at bedrock. Any which survived the fall damage would be slaughtered by a lava blade.
My latest project, in partnership with geuis, may be bigger than that but it's not quite done yet... got to move a whole lot of seabed out of the way. =D
Alas poor BAFI .. i died a great many times to skeletons under there .. before the lava lit it up.
and my personal biggest project was tetra .. i dug lots over those 2 + weeks. Must have put in about 48 hours at least, proly more on that .. soo many pickaxes.. and i was there when the first block was dug.. but any way thats my claim to fame.
Do solo projects count?
I'm building a tree that consists of some 18000 blocks of wood, plus the canopy leaves (about a 120 blocks wide circle, one layer) plus the roots.
Every single one of them are mined/crafted/picked up by me, by hand. Save for some 3-4 stacks of wood and about 6 stacks of leaves.
I believe the first community project was the Pyramid.
Second could be the diamond twin towers.
third would probably be the Waterslide on Tootsville Island.
fourth would be possibly the Kremlin OR cmgs world Tree
Now, I do know that on plenty of maps there were large underground builds. For example.
This map had about 3 spawn towns, one of the earlier maps. Had a Sky walkway from spawn to spawn, had Broonies Boat (Obsidian). Now I know that my first creation on that map, The hobbit hole, was about 120,000 blocks removed, with the help of many others XD, I later started work on another with 275000 blocks removed.
The map with Bafi, not many know that underneath it was not only a underground canal system, but a massive chamber, with 4 lava pyramids.
Also on the Bafi map was StaffCastle 1 and the ASA HQ, both of which were no small creation. Lakeside town as well, was no small build.
On the map just previous, we had a large rail system, and countless massive arenas, we also had Safestore, if you count all that sea filled in. Again in that map, there were some large spanning builds. ASA, Toast Town, Sky City, Staff Castle, Blinkies Base along with Tetra, which is by far one the largest builds we have had.
Not a clue over here.
My biggest is probably the Underwater City which isnt that big just takes a while.
But alas i dont really work on a huge builds level. im more of a nomadic builder, just a little here and there
On the current map I would say that the Not-Quite-Circular-Circle is the biggest single building, taking 31415 cobble (roughly) To make the floor. And thats not taking into account the materials for the biomes or the walls etc.
My biggest build is a tie between my arena and CUTM, followed by Helm's Deep on the old map
:O you built a helms deep?! !!!
I've got a wall. Its pretty big.
How much cobble did helms deep take?

It just struck me, but isn't it funny how boys are always about nothing else but who has the biggest... build on the server? : D
Strong DNA traits are strong. : )
[EDIT]
Oh, and please do not get me wrong. Based on the WTC, I have got a lot to compensate for. : )
My tower complex is pretty big but it probably is teensy compared to the other projects. Starting a new project soon though, got a special idea!
The towers used up about 40 stacks of cobble which is approximately 2560 blocks.
