There was a recent update to the plugin we use to lock chests, doors, furnaces, etc, called "Deadbolt". That plugin was recently updated, and unfortunately for some, broke their ability to access their chests.
As you know, clicking on a chest, furnace, door, etc, with a sign in your hand automatically put your name on the sign and attached the sign to the chest/furnace/etc. Previously, however, if your name was 14 or 15 characters long, it would cut off the last 2 characters of your name for some odd reason. This still allowed you to access your chest, though, as Deadbolt only cared about the first 13 characters of the name.
However, there was an issue where, if two members had nearly identical long names, except for the last 2 characters, they could access each others chests. This was fixed in the recent update. Deadbolt no longer cuts off the 14th and 15th character.
The downside, though, if you have a long username, Deadbolt thinks you do not own the chest since your name doesn't match the sign, and denies you access to your chest/door/furnace/etc. The only fix for this is to have the sign removed, so you can replace it with a corrected sign.
I've been given temporary powers by Broonie to remove Deadbolt signs, so if you are affected by this, leave a reply here, contact me in-game, or send me a PM, and I will remove the old sign for you.
Please be ready to show me where every chest, door, furnace, brewing stand, enchanting table, etc, is, so we can take care of all of them at once.
