Hey just visited my mushroom farm, and a sign from the staff informed me that excess mushroom spread causes lag and i was asked to contain, as no mods are online, and i was unaware of this, and un aware of how to contain, i have removed all mushrooms i have been growing from the area for now, untill i seek the guidence from staff on how to mushroom farm without hindering the server

The amount of lag different things like mushroom spread cause is difficult to determine. Theoretically it is possible but it has, to my knowledge, never been done.

As such it is difficult to give specific guidance on what configurations will cause lag and which wont.

As a basic guide, just keep it small. I don't think I can define to the block what small is, but use common sense.

If you really want lots of mushrooms, just grow some big ones with bonemeal and harvest.

Ah thanks for the further advice Discharge , Shrapnel cleared up the confusion when he logged in, it was just that the farm was in proximity to some tunnels, and he was worried they would multiply in excess beyond my control, but i dont think the farm was at the stage of lag, but better safe than sorry, i removed the shrooms, walled off their only escape with gravel and continued on my merry way after replanting some in my small, unescapable (for mushrooms atleast) area . If there are any problems caused by them, you guys would be better off doing what you see fit
