So I finally have good enough net to come back! and while strolling it became night and I ran to the nearest building, which happened to be deadbolted from the inside apparently. I got in anyways though and noticed afterwards with the red warning message.

Anyways, just letting ya know that the deadbolt function could use some looking at.

So you were confronted with a closed door on someone else's build and got in by bypassing a deadbolt(which staff member can see once they check an area for grief) just so you could have some shelter from the night?
Couldn't you just have made a dirt shack or logged of for a few minutes instead of breaking in to someones build?

Note wjg that he didn't mean to bypass lockette/deadbolt ,and yes the bukkit build is iffy but its better than nothin .

I'd kind of interpreted "bypassing deadbolt" as meaning breaking blocks round a deadbolted door, I suppose climbing/flying over a wall might count if someone gets caught doing it.

Trying a door and finding it unlocked isn't quite the same thing, some builds have been left unlocked because they are meant to be visited.

However, breaking into a build or somehow bypassing a deadbolt / lockette'd door is against the rules. So be aware that you may get a warning or temp-ban for the offence.

As the other members have said - you should have either built a temporary shelter, hide inside an open build, or just log out for about 10 minutes.
