CALLING ALL SHIPBUILDERS, TRADERS AND BUILDERS! (Now Accepting Applicants!)
I have claimed a large tract of mostly desert and a bit of jungle, towards the southern part of the spawn region. I have decided to call this area, New Antium.
I have been thinking about new building projects that I can undertake, given that I have returned the server after a very long time and that it's a new world, so I want to start fresh and contribute something nice to the community.
What I saw in this land was a great opportunity. Since most the continent had a few nice harbour spots and a nice peninsula, I am going to found a city on this harbour, and terraform the surrounding area to be suitable for building.
New Antium (the city), will be built at the southern tip of the peninsula on the map. There hasn't yet been any decision made about limitations on build style, but, try to keep it close to the naval and trade theme. There is no limit to the theme of ships built in New Antium, they can be of any era. Markets will be built, and players can exchange goods, set up shops and offer services.
With the remaining inner desert regions of New Antium, I will use them as personal building space and/or a large, hunger games style PvP survival arena. Furthermore, I might convert parts of the desert into "airship pits", which are holes in the ground where and airship can built, and it acts like a ground level dock.
How to build here:To have access and building rights to the shipyards of the New Antium region, you will need a membership. All players are free to visit New Antium, city and shipyard, but to build here will require you to go through a simple application process. New Antium is not associated with any clan, allowing for anyone to become a member. You can build in the city simply by asking me, though don't claim a large plot, something along the size of the plots at spawn town or even smaller are recommended.
The RegionBelow I have enclosed a map of the region, and how it will be divided up. Do note that I did find two dwelling areas, one seemed to be claimed but the other abandoned, I have set aside land for them.
In the map below, the gold borders (straight line on land dotted in water) refer to what will be the original area of the city. The Purple borders is a limit to the city's expansion. The Red borders refer to the whole New Antium and shipbuilding region (person20111's territory). And the light green borders are potential areas I may consider claiming. Lastly, the areas marked in beige with red text next to them saying "Canal?" are potential spots for a canal I might or might not build, as part of a canal system I might or might not build, linking to spawn. [spawn canal confirmed]
Do note that these are approximate borders.
This map is a bit poorly drawn, apologies.
The second map is one after the annexation of two territories, the northern half of the Southern desert, as well as 404thread's desert village. Blue dotted borders refer roughly to the sea borders, but map 1 is more accurate for that. The major locations are also labelled, including neighboring territories. The dark red marks the land borders. The crosshatched area to the north might be annexed, but hasn't yet, due to border and signage updates being considered. The red circles mark the starting points of a foot, horse and rail bridge that will cross the bay in the west.
Recent NewsIn the last few weeks, the terraforming of the peninsula has progressed, allowing for more room for future developments.
Furthermore, 404thread's desert village has been annexed, as well as most of the northern areas of the desert, nearly more than doubling New Antium's Territorial holdings.
In light of vast quantities of stone, sand and sandstone harvested at a new canal site in the north, the lighthouse island and the lighthouse its self, will be close to completion early October.
Any thoughts, questions, etc?
P.S. Signing up to join the New Antium shipbuilding region is simply done by PMing me or messaging me on the server, then I will sort out a time to review and discuss your application.
P.P.S. You might want to open up the map in another window, it's bit tiny for this post.
Edit: Signs are up, notifying players of the territory borders. Credit to Aconan for the helpful suggestion.
Edit 2: Applications are now being accepted!
