Thread: Market suggestions (Server Discussion) Posted on 11 Oct : 01:17
Here's a few suggestions I feel would improve the market and usability of it, maybe I'm the only one but just some suggestions to consider for a future update..

1. Adding something to identify out of stock items, I went to buy something and it showed it at 150g so I deposited the gold since I couldn't sell anything (below), then came to find out the one item was out of stock and was stuck with all my gold now in the market. Would be nice if it said out of stock on the items.

2. Adding a way to withdraw our gold, or something along the lines. Not sure how this would work, maybe have tax or fees or something on withdrawing it, but I do feel it's a little frustrating having my gold locked in the market with no way to get it back without buying stuff.

3. The biggest issue I have with the market is the fact it's frustrating trying to sell anything in order to buy stuff, at least for me I don't even feel like messing with it.

It feels more like a store with a failed trading section, depositing gold and buying stuff works fine and without issue, but for selling.. it's like trying to sell a used game and the store saying they have nothing to pay me almost every time.

I don't know how this would be fixed other than giving the server a large sum of gold (might happen again in the future though), or just allow the server to sell regardless unless it's for 0 gold etc.. I just feel this could work a little better.

Again, just my opinions on it and something to consider for an update, I'm also interested in what other's think about this and if anyone has anything to add, etc. smile
Re: I can't play Minecraft D= (Off Topic Discussion) Posted on 07 Oct : 01:21
Do you know which video card you have offhand?

Have you run windows update and gotten all the latest updates, patches, etc through that yet?

And have you tried the latest version of Java? (or.. v7?)
Re: LAG??? (Server Discussion) Posted on 04 Oct : 21:46
I don't know if it'll help, but I've been wondering if maybe the 1.9 server that was setup is somehow indirectly affecting the 1.8 server?

For me at least, timing wise it makes sense, ever since the 1.9 server was setup is when the lag started being more common.. and with the server being updated to 1.9 pre 2 it has gotten even worse..

I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence and the 1.9 server has nothing to do with it, but if it's on the same machine it might be worth a shot to shut the 1.9 server down for a day or two just to see if the lag on the 1.8 server improves at all.

Again, just an idea.. otherwise only thing I can think of is bukkit just being bukkit.

Another quick update, both texture packs have been tested and updated for 1.8. smile

Take care on your break and hope to see you in the future. smile
Re: A second opinion (Off Topic Discussion) Posted on 08 Aug : 19:07
Hmm.. If you can swing another $90-$100 I'd go with an Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz processor, it's performance vs the i5 is worth it if you do any gaming or more cpu intensive tasks.

And +1 to what Broonie said, I'd consider a soundcard, even aside from the obvious, will help in games that have a lot of audio and are cpu limited.

As far as the raid0 idea.. I personally go for reliability over performance on this aspect, having two drives in raid0 might be faster but if one fails data on both is lost. I do however run a 150-300GB 10K rpm Raptor for my os drive, keeps startups etc speedy while having 7200rpm drives for storage.

Looks like a nice build so far. smile
