Yeah, credit for the pixel art goes to MadMikePL!

Congrats to Jighello for finding the first GeoCache! It is still available for others to find and to see what treasures have been left behind! Also, our second GeoCache has been posted at the green Geo Igloo. (This one is a little harder).

Yeah, MadMike, that sounds like a great idea. You have my permission to add the compass pixel art. Thanks.
Thread: New Event: GeoCaching! (Server Discussion) Posted on 28 May : 02:00
I have started a GeoCaching facility just outside spawn, at the entrance of Fort Rudder (/warp rudder or x: 1991, z: 660). The facility itself is the green building just SE of Fort Rudder entrance.

For those who do not know what GeoCaching is, it is a real-world event where people hide things around the world in random places and post coordinates online. People use these coordinates in their GPS to go find the items.

I have posted one GeoCache in game right now. The coordinates are in the green building.

-The GeoCache you find will always be surrounded in green wool.
-The coordinates will only get you within 100 blocks of the cache. Be creative and look around!
-You will not be required to destroy blocks of any kind to find the cache.
-When you find the cache, leave your name on the blank signs provided.
-Also, the chest you find is under a "take something, leave something" policy. Don't leave the chest empty.
-First person to each cache gets to keep the diamond inside.
-If you wish to create your own GeoCache, let me know and I will check it out and then add the coordinates to the GEO IGLOO facility (green building).

HAVE FUN!

Whilst I enjoy the hive mentality in things such as Minecraft, the fact it is a fort, with sturdy outer walls, kind of inhibits that reasoning..?

I don't think it does. The camaraderie will be between the members of the fort and those who choose to invest time.
Re: Fort Rudder (Off Topic Discussion) Posted on 16 May : 23:40
The main goal is not pvp...just a fun secondary goal in the future. But yes, it is a 'clan', 'group', etc.

#1 goal = enhancement of the fort

All other tasks are secondary to helping out the fort. Would enjoy your help later if you would like. smile

If you are accepted, the following will be expected of you:
-work to maintain the fort, to include expansions
-perform research, invent new contraptions to better our defenses and acquire resources
-be willing to spend time at the fort touching up details and fixing problems
-be willing to participate in pvp when we officially declare our status as a "pvp army".

Perks of the job include:
-a permanent room at the fort
-access to all expansions/rooms in the fort
-camaraderie with other residents of the fort
-the chance to work with others on something bigger than one person could handle

Also, please note that any individual "hired" will be able to submit creative ideas and suggestions directly to myself and those ideas will help shape and sustain this compound!

Mine is still empty but I will be using it soon. Sorry to keep it empty for so long.
