Still says "Can't reach server" and "Failed to receive challenge", I was able to play on Unleashed but I just checked and Ultimate is down.

Edit: I tried connecting just to see and it tells me "Connection refused: connect".

FTB Ultimate server is down again at 7:07am GMT-6 and I think I found out why, this is the second time I've gone to new spawn and it's crashed, the chunk looked cut up and stuff, like a render error or something, screenshot will be posted. Is this a corrupted chunk maybe? I did tell Hotmage of a Nether Portal glitching into the protected spawn platform earlier this week, not sure if it has been reported further than that though.



Edit: Server came back up, not sure what time as I was away but it spawned me in new spawn unlike last time where I was booted to the place I warped from. I am not sure about this so I will refrain from warping to new spawn until there is word on what caused it.

To clarify, the Unleashed server is the one down. I was running around and ended up in a chunk error I didn't see, perhaps that's why.

Or perhaps it was me, I was making golems fill items into generators, but accidently made them feed items into the top of the generator (wich only accepts items on the bottom). And the server crashed quite instantly after i placed down the golems.

I quite often see chunk errors when moving around the map, so I wouldnt think it would be that. Golem's possibly? Sounds unlikely but maybe Broonie can fill us in when he see's the logs.

Tested the scenario of golems feeding items into generators top slot in single player. And my game client did infact crash once the top slot of the generator was full of items, and the golem tried to insert more items into the generator. So my fault.... ops :/

Thank you for letting us know Dips. Something we should avoid in the future. Also to inform all looking. I have PM'd Broonie regarding All servers unreachable as of 1am GMT.

It seems to me that Broonie is heavily relied on to reboot and look after the servers and since it would seem that these Minecraft servers are not his life (or in fact livelihood) it would make sense to have a few volunteer people available to kick the servers if Broonie is not about.

You guys don't know me IRL but in my spare time away from playing Minecraft I own and run a UK web hosting company called ServWise (www.servwise.com) so you could say I have a little experience with server administration. I've also created my own MC servers for my own use and so am least capable of restarting MC at very least.

I would happily offer my services voluntarily should Broonie wish to entrust access to a third-party and since I spend my working day monitoring and dealing with servers I am maybe more available than Broonie might be.

Broonie if you are interested in some assistance please pm me. I would be happy to help..

To be honest Spin. The only reason CFUK is so secure is because broonie is extremely reluctant to give anyone secondary access to the backend. Only one person "Flightster" i believe has been allowed while Broonie was on vacation.

Also please create a new thread for further discussion of topics. We need this forum as clear as possible besides the "server down" etc.

Sure draze, just thought I would offer considering my skill set and background. Security wise giving a linux shell user the ability to run a script that restarts the MC instance is not really a security issue, you could even make it web based and just give access to click a button on an admin screen but in most cases where MC has just crashed thats enough to bring it back to life.
