It takes a lot of resources to build the system you are describing (the camouflage upgrade requiring uu matter) and a ton of power to keep constantly running (600 eu/t in this case). Also, it only takes your items. If you died then that was something else.

All forcefield defences give you warning that you are about to enter a protected area 5 blocks outside their effective zone, precisely so that you can choose to turn around if you wish and so that it cant be used as a surprise griefing tool.

The forcefield defences were my own (in case you haven't already guessed). The irony is the only reason they are so OTT is because you destroyed my lava pumping station last time after it's shield ran out of juice (as you mentioned in your post). You must have been very close to my base for it to have taken effect as it only has a small range.

You may have your items back and I will increase the warn radius to 10 blocks.

There is certainly a degree of thoughtfulness required in making such systems. Obviously putting one at spawn isn't fair. Since mine is relatively small, is in a 10 block radius around my base (which is a suspicious dome of lava) and is 9,000 blocks away from spawn, I thought that was fairly reasonable.

It crashed last time after he just entered a new age. Probably not a coincidence.
