Not much to update this week on CF | UK;

First of all I'd like to thank Kyn.A.N. for his donation , thank you!

Couple of changes over the past week, scripts have been updated to improve stability a little, and I am now working on something to enable guest access to the server, as well as customised clan tags and everything else.

Its going to be great when its done, but its a big project, so bear with me

Couple of changes this week, in the way of that not much else to discuss.

Servers been updated with the latest .jar file availabile to us, this has seemed to reduce the crashes and the huuuuge memory leaks. Which is great for us cause it means more uptime, more playtime, and more fun. Woo!

Also got a new feature or two to play with this week, we've got a fully working server auto-restarter up and running. Which is currently set to restart every 6 hours, once Notch releases more stable code, we're looking to update this to at least 12 hours, then 24 hours. On top of this, a referral system is now in place, as well as an objective to become top poster! This will allow you to gain access to the 'special' class, which will give you a little advantage over the regular users. So what you waiting for? Look at the dedicated topic in the forum now!

Also, in other personal news, I currently don't have a job but I am working on getting a steady source of income once again. I'd like to thank the donators who are helping me out here, without your funds we could of been in a bit of trouble. Thanks again!

Also, I've searched through YouTube and guess what? Found some goodies for you to watch of 'older maps' (Hopefully not looking for a reset this time, we'll try our best!)

Couple of updates that have happened so far:
1 - New Map
We've reset the map to complete the Halloween upgrade. This will be the last map reset hopefully, unless Notch does something in which we are forced to reset again.
I'll upload back up copies of each map next time I'm in college, as theres a nice upload speed there.
2 - Semi Private
We are officialy semi-private now, that means you need to register on the website and click Link Account before you can log in. This has always been a unique feature on CF | UK and will continue to be one.
3 - Server Restarter
We now have a official server restarter in place, it will restart the server every 6 hours or so. This is due to the 'fail-o-ween' update causing rocketing CPU usage due to Notchs 'quickfix' to the light system. Bad Notch! Bad!

Just a reminder to all users that we're going semi-private tomorrow. Please remember to link your account. If you haven't, you will not have access to the server until you do.

So from the downtime last night and the short period of work this morning, I can now say the server is officialy back online for the time being.

They has been a couple of errors because of this though, and I will be looking into it. Advance warning of any restarts will be given in-game throughout the day.

This was a hardware issue and we are currently asking at the DC to look at the server again. We will be updating the network status page when we have more info

Downtime is unknown, news updates will be posted as we get them.

Tomorrow, between 10am - 12:30pm work will be carried out on the server, this will mean the minecraft server will be unavailable to access.

The work is being carried out to prepare for the Halloween Update.

Few updates to remind you about:

1 - We're going semi private this week!
Due to popular demand, the server is reverting back to semi-private like before with the old server before the re-launch. It will work mostly in the same way, and if your already linked, you won't be affected. If you are not linked however, upon connect you will be rejected from the server.

2 - Halloween Update!
The long awaited update for minecraft is finally coming! We're unsure how long it will take us to update but once we're fully up and running, we should be all able to enjoy this update smoothly. Be assured, we will try not to have a map reset, however if the current map is not compatible with the update for any reason, we'll need to reset the map, and will be availabile for download on a major filehosting network.
