In other news, not much to report:
First of all I'd like to give my thanks to the following users for their donations: Flightster, adamorjames, Yigg and brother_blood ! Your continued support helps the server live on! Thank you!

Couple of new features this week, some will be of use to you and some will not too.

Xmas trees have been tweaked for basic verification that their not bashing into walls or things, and they can also now only be planted into dirt, or grass.

The server now backs up the map every 6 hours! This is great considering we shouldn't lose the map again, or have to take a week back in time to retrieve it.

You may or may not know that we were seeking helpers to help [heh, how'd you guess?] us out a little since our huge rush recently [player limit is now 30, and we've already reached that! WOW!]. So I'd like to congratulate our newest two helpers, Flightster and tuatha1337, welcome aboard! We may/may not be still looking, we'll see how we go over the next couple of days.

Our live cartograph of the map is looking great, wow. I'm sure all of us can actually see things coming together now, it really makes me proud of you guys!

Also, on a more serious note, pvp has been disabled due to numerous complaints and whilst on this issue, may I give a strong reminder that just because your a donator, does not mean you cannot be banned from the server. We're beginning to see issues cropping up, in which we may have to take action.

An auto nightly internal backup will be commited 23:59

A manual weekly external backup will be commited every weekend.

Just a few minor changes to report, and some new featuers as of the like:

• We now have a LIVE cartograph, currently all users can access it @ map.crazy-fools.co.uk
  
• Player VS Player has been re-enabled
  
• Normal users can use /home and /sethome command
  
• Site layout has been changed
  

We had a couple of problems with server updates and such.

Seems our server has been stable for 24 hours now. Yaaay.

In other news, we're working our way up the serverlist again, and we do have a new ip address for those who are getting timeout errors. Try connecting to: 109.169.55.116 or you can use server.crazy-fools.co.uk to connect instead.

In way of upgrades to the server, we now have a home-grown christmas mod in! Its simple to use, and heres the features:
1 - Generate Snowmen!
You can make a snowman with an exclusive gift inside, to create one:
GSS
SGS
SSG
Snow = S
Gold = G
Make sure you put the gold in last, and if it doesn't work, try the other way around. I'm working to fix this once I get a chance.
2 - Make Xmas Trees!
Plant a sapling, BOOM, christmas tree! Simple as that!!
3 - Make Presents!
Want a gift for someone or yourself? Place a clothblock with redstone on top, then smash the redstone and out pops your surprise!
4 - Let It Snow!
Destroy some snow = moar snow. Destroy ice = moar ice.

In other news, I'm looking around for other modifications to add to the server. Only after todays bugfix has been uploaded by Notch though, and I should be able to add that in within 2 hours of being uploaded.

I can now safely say our server is back to a stable condition after this weeks hell. It hasn't been easy but I'm sure we're all glad that the server is back. Unfortuantly there has been a couple of problems with surely you have already noticed. But its the best we could do for now.
We've had a small number of issues this week, one being practically major involving the whole server going down.

It started off for myself requesting the server to be upgraded since we were growing, I asked for a little more RAM, and some a little more processing power. It all went smooth payment wise until the next morning, the upgrades weren't applied. Upon being asked to reboot the server, internet connectivity was lost.

After a string of 3 days trying to get the server back online, trying everything from changing TCP / IP settings to re-imaging the server, I could not get internet access to the outside world.

Unfortuantly, I also couldn't connect via FTP to back-up the required files simply due the internet loss. All I had at my power was a console command line going through the default gateway of the server.

After days and days of being told it was a software problem. I had no choice but to do a fresh install of the OS on the server, I did this. And the issue still wasn't resolved.

The 'amazing' support team then decided to replace the whole server, meaning yes, we've got a shiny new box, but on the other hand, we've lost everything on our old one.

I do apologise for having a lack of a new backup, the newest one I had dated back to the 31st October, hardly efficient.

Changes are coming this time around, backups will be done weekly, and we'll try not to apply for new upgrades. I can only thank you for your patience in the matter.

In other news, I'd like to thank you for the surge in donations recently, you're helping to keep the server going! I love you guys!

Time some updates!

First of all, I like to give some personal thanks to the following users:

Couple of changes to the server this week, firstly the most noticeable is the huge popular increase in server activity. Possibly due to the fact that we've enabled guestmode again! This means that the server might get a little bit more full, however we're increasing our server space to try help cope with it.

The right click issue is fixed now also (thanks Aconan!) this means you can right click empty handed without caution, turns out the fault was an incorrectly ported version of the hey0 mod. All is fixed now however.

We've also added a few homegrown modifcations to the server, we've got a plugin to tell guests how to register now, should calm down things a little. And a little surprise plugin for the mods just now as a tester, /explode.

We've added some town forums aswell, soon as I've finished this, I'll work on getting the custom mods for each forum on. Shouldn't take too long and should be done quite quickly.

New feature too! Clantags and colours! Pretty easy to use, only if your a donator though. Check out Minecraft Settings -> Colours and Clans.

Couple of secret things planned for next week too. Keep an eye out!
