The server will be back online from 12pm with the newly applied 1.8 update

The main server will be offline for some work from 11am onwards

I am now beginning to upgrade the main server to 1.8

This will take me a while, a few coffees, and alot of upload/download data, but hopefully should get it done before the afternoon arrives.

The pretest server is now updated with the latest pre-release.

To further increase security, an additional reCAPTCHA has been enabled on login.

This is a temp. measure, along with other backend additional security measures to prevent website attacks.

As you are all already most likely to be aware, a 1.8 pre-release has been out a couple of days now. Crazy-Fools.co.uk does host a pre-1.8 server, please connect using the details minecraft.crazy-fools.co.uk:25555. This will be availabile for as long no-one decides to crash the server exploiting/discovering/abusing/making a bug.

Tomorrow is one of the expected release dates for an official 1.8 release, even if not we will still have to wait till Bukkit does an official stable release before we can even consider upgrading.

One of the FAQ is how the map transfer will work, this will only apply for those who have already linked their accounts, if you have not linked your account; you will not have to do anything.

To switch to the new map:

• Export your single chest of items, type /export and then click on the chest you wish to export to the new map.
  
• Move to the new map by typing /transfer
  
• Import your chest of items by typing /import and then placing a block.
  

Once you move to the new map, you will not be able to return to the old one, so make the most of it while you can!

Also, once 1.8 hits, the following commands will be changed:

/tp will become /goto
/tphere will become /here
/top will be re-enabled

Over the next couple of days the CFUK plugin on the server will finally reach its first release of version 1.0

This is mostly a preparation release for Minecraft 1.8 once it comes out to allow access to the old world and access to the new world once 1.8 actually arrives.

There is also a replacement teleport system using the commands /goto [replacing /tp] and /here [replacing /tphere].

The command /top will also be making a return to the server.

With the official release of the server market will also come up higher markup prices, so buy low while you can!

Mob spawner changers wil also be implemented in this release, clicking a mob spawner will change the mob it spawns.

The TNT license system may also see a change, as well as other small cosmetic changes.

In regards to the 1.8 world, all current users will be able to /transfer over to the new world however will not be able to transfer back. You can ethier choose to continue playing on the old map or transfer over to the new one, and will be able to take an inventory of items with you.

However, donators and above will also have access to take a single chest with them too, this can be accessed using the /export and /import commands, both of which can only be ran once. (Basicly, once you've used it, its done!)

Further instructions on how to use this feature will be shown in the future.

In regards to the new server we where meant to recieve a number of weeks ago, this has now been cancelled to unforeseen issues with the hardware itself. For the considerable future we have optimised our current server to deal with anything Notch throws at us.
